Point Source Audio’s CO-5w Keeps Singing, Even in the Rain

PORTLAOISE, Ireland — Sound designer Vinny Osborne chose Point Source Audio’s CO-5w waterproof microphone for use on Portlaoise Musical Society’s production of Singin’ in the Rain. As you might have guessed from the name of the show, the mic had to stand up to a bit of wet. The show used three major downpours, but the waterproof CO-5w and its IP rating of 57 shrugged off the dampness. Of the mic, Osborne said, “Not only did the mic withstand the rain, it fits really well and sounds crystal clear. It is a very crisp and very live mic with plenty of level.”

Germany-Based Werretalhalle Installs Adamson Gear

LOHNE, Germany — Werretalhalle, a venue here that seats 250 and has a capacity for 450 without seating in place, recently installed Adamson gear including Point 15s (L-R) and Point 12 speakers (center-fill), along with Point 8s (near-fill) and Point 215s for low-end support. The gear was first used for a show featuring a Dire Straits tribute band, “Dire Strats” (setup pictured here).
