Point Source Audio’s CO-5w Keeps Singing, Even in the Rain

PORTLAOISE, Ireland — Sound designer Vinny Osborne chose Point Source Audio’s CO-5w waterproof microphone for use on Portlaoise Musical Society’s production of Singin’ in the Rain. As you might have guessed from the name of the show, the mic had to stand up to a bit of wet. The show used three major downpours, but the waterproof CO-5w and its IP rating of 57 shrugged off the dampness. Of the mic, Osborne said, “Not only did the mic withstand the rain, it fits really well and sounds crystal clear. It is a very crisp and very live mic with plenty of level.”
