BANGOR, Northern Ireland – MGA Communication Ltd provided a site-wide RCF communication network for the Bangor Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex, a new sports facility located here. The complex houses Northern Ireland’s first FINA standard 50 meter swimming pool.

CUK – CADAC’s UK distributor – has supplied a CADAC CDC8-16 to Glyndŵr University AVL Technical Services for evaluation and first time ever use for a public performance. The CADAC CDC8-16 features an ultra-compact frame-size with identical 128-channel I/O count, just as the full 32-channel version.

MOSCOW – Completed in 2000 to replace the original cathedral destroyed by Stalin in 1931, Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior is the world’s tallest Orthodox cathedral. It features a vaulted ceiling and hard walls that create reverberation times of over 10 seconds. To improve clarity for its speech and music programming, the cathedral recently upgraded to the new steerable CAL column array loudspeakers from Meyer Sound.

HONG KONG — Hong Kong’s Space Museum has reinvigorated its visitor offering with an Omnimax planetarium system. The museum’s Lecture Hall has not only benefited from the visual elements of cinematic styling, the audio system is also brand-new. It includes a TiMax2 SoundHub16 multi-channel delay matrix installed as surround system management and spatialization processor.

GELDERLAND, The Netherlands – Decibel 111 Audio recently invested in an Allen & Heath iLive-T80 digital mixing system and ME-1 personal monitor mixers to supplement its rental stock and specifically manage the summer tour dates of top pop band, Hike. Decibel purchased the new A&H equipment following a demo and training day for engineers and musicians at pro audio dealer, Aptronics.

MEXICO CITY — El Tri, a prominent Mexican rock band, opened Oaxaca’s Jovenes en el Arte (Young People in Art) festival with a  free concert that drew a crowd of 10,000 to the Auditorio Guelaguetza.  The concert featured the new NEXO STM modular line array sound reinforcement system, recently purchased by PA rental company Tecno Son Espectaculos.

KIEV, Ukraine – Philip Reynolds, systems engineer for the Killers’ current Battle Born world tour, has been using a RedNet 1 eight-channel A-D/D-A and RedNet 4 eight-channel mic preamp at FOH to keep the audio within the digital domain for as long as possible before conversion to analog — A-D conversion takes place side-stage as soon as the mics plug into the stagebox. It’s just one example of how the company’s technology is being put to use to improve live sound.

LONDON – Electric due The Pet Shop Boys have received rave reviews for the first two dates of their 2013 Electric Tour. Capital Sound Hire deployed its NEXO STM system for the shows in London and Manchester, the largest they have undertaken to date, using the first three-wide configuration of the modular line array, requested by FOH engineer Holger Schwark.

NASHVILLE, TN – Club Sapphire in Gümbet in Mugla province, Turkey, recently installed One Systems loudspeakers in its new outdoor dance club.  Akhan SES Isik Ve Gorsel Sistemler Tic of Istanbul, one of Turkey’s leading audio installation companies, performed the design and installation of the sound system that includes One Systems’ 103IM and 106IM speakers.
