LONDON, UK – Martin Audio noted that Capital Sound was able to overcame significant acoustic challenges at Alexandra Palace (a.k.a. Ally Pally) by using their MLA Multi-cellular Loudspeaker Array for dance music trio Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 050 seven-hour live radio broadcast, which took place within the venue on Oct. 26.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Providence KL, a nightclub that opened here in July 2013, installed a NEXT-proaudio sound system. Next Integration Engineering, NEXT-proaudio’s distributor in Malaysia, provided six X15, six X12, eight X8, six XH18, four XS118 and six XS12 speakers. The whole system is powered by NEXT MA series gear.

DUBAI, UAE — Joe Chidiac of Pulse Middle East designed a system for the Iris Club near Ghantoot Marina here that includes Turbosound TCX loudspeakers. The system includes 28 TCX-15 loudspeakers and 16 TCX-15B subwoofers along four four Milan M15 portable loudspeakers that can move around and be deployed as needed. The audio system is powered by 10 RACKDP-50 four-channel digital amplifiers with built-in DSP.

WOLVERHAMPTON, UK – Faces, a nightclub that is part of the No Saints portfolio, opened here recently in a space formerly occupied by Oceana. The $1.19 million refurbishment included a custom installation of RCF loudspeakers to overcome acoustic challenges presented by the varying needs of the space.

AUCKLAND, New Zealand – High Definition Audio Visual Ltd (HDAV), based here, recently added two Allen & Heath digital consoles, a Qu-16 rack mount mixer and the new GLD-112 with accompanying AR2412 and AR84 for additional stage and FOH I/O racks to its rental inventory.

EGHAM, UK – The Student Union at the Royal Holloway University of London host a variety of events at a multifunctional venue, which include live music, clubs, conferences, theaters, trade shows, etc. Its technical crew is responsible for approximately 10 different productions a week, and recently purchased a Harman Soundcraft Vi1 in order to train more students in front of house (FOH) audio mixing.

ROSTOV, Russia – For a restoration of the Rostov Cathedral, MixArt worked with sound designer Oleg Sherbakov on a sound system upgrade that included the use of K-array gear. K-array was informed of some of the details of that development at its GDM (Global Distributor Meeting) held in Tuscany, Italy and shared the news in a press release.

KURSK, Russia – For the new Sports and Concert Center that opened here recently, Light.Sound.Contractor, NEXT-proaudio´s distributor in Russia, provided gear including 20 elements of NEXT CXH-64, 9 elements of NEXT CXL-15, 2 NSound P15mA, 4 NSound P15 and 4 NSound P12mA.

MUMBAI, India – Coke Studio India, a.k.a. Coke Studio@MTV, features live performances of Indian music in an hour-long TV show format. Among the six songs usually featured are a wide range of musical stylings, from Carnatic and Hindustani compositions to recreated Bollywood tracks and original music composed just for the show. Grammy winning engineer Stephen Fitzmaurice, who has also worked with Seal, U2 and others, mixes on a Soundcraft Vi6 console and uses a Soundcraft Vi1 as a sub-mixer for larger acts. Flying Carpet Productions, Sound.com and Harman also provided JBL LSR 4328s and other Harman gear for mixing and for monitoring during recording.

SEOUL, KOREA — Allen & Heath’s Korean distributor, Sama ProSound Co., Ltd, recently installed a GLD-80 digital mixing system and ME-1 personal monitor mixer in Gunpo Sungjang Church in Gunpo-si near Seoul.
