HANOVER, Germany – Oliver Voges is among the sound engineers turning to Waves plug-ins to support live shows, including major festivals, live TV events and a roster of artists including Faith No More, Deftones, Tangerine Dream, David Copperfield and Sarah Brightman. Most recently, for German rapper Casper, Voges has been using Waves MultiRack SoundGrid with Waves SoundGrid Server One to run Waves plugins on a Yamaha CL5 Digital Mixing Console.

SOCHI, Russia — Following its involvement in support the needs of the Summer Olympics, Riedel Communications is providing a large-scale communications network infrastructure for the 2014 Winter Games. Riedel’s MediorNet fiber-based network helps transport HD video and audio signals, data and Riedel Artist intercom signals. Organizers also opted for a Riedel Mass Cast deployment with 14 transmitters and thousands of receivers and earpieces for the big opening and closing ceremonies.

LEEDS and GLASGOW, U.K. — Andrea Bocelli drew crowds to Leeds’ First District Arena and Glasgow’s SSE Hydro in Nov. 2013, with FOH engineer Andrea Taglia handling the mix. Taglia specified Outline’s GTO system for both shows. The main system included 45 GTO enclosures hung in an L-C-R configuration, augmented at the low end with 24 Outline SubTech subwoofers.
