Andrea Bocelli U.K. Performances Heard Via Outline Gear

LEEDS and GLASGOW, U.K. — Andrea Bocelli drew crowds to Leeds’ First District Arena and Glasgow’s SSE Hydro in Nov. 2013, with FOH engineer Andrea Taglia handling the mix. Taglia specified Outline’s GTO system for both shows. The main system included 45 GTO enclosures hung in an L-C-R configuration, augmented at the low end with 24 Outline SubTech subwoofers.

Soundcraft Releases Vi Version 4.8 Software for Vi2, Vi4 and Vi6 Consoles

POTTERS BAR, U.K. – Soundcraft’s Vi Version 4.8 software is now available for the company’s Vi2, 4 and 6 consoles. New features include significant improvements in stage monitor applications. Vi1 users also benefit from some of the new features, using the same update file, downloadable free of charge from the Soundcraft website. Some of the new features may require the purchase of additional DSP cards for Vi2, 4 and 6 consoles.

French Alps Attract U.K. Students with Skiing, Music

TIGNES, France — Since 1922, students at Oxford and Cambridge universities in the U.K. have participated in a winter trip to the Alps. For the 2013 outing, close to 2,740 students traveled to Tignes, France. Along with skiing and snowboarding, the event featured live music, with support from Bristol, U.K.-based Production Audio’s XLC DVX line array elements and other Electro-Voice gear.
