LONDON – Adlib supplied audio crew and equipment for Capital FM’s Summertime Ball event, staged at Wembley Stadium here June 21. System Engineer Tony Szabo designed an L-Acoustics K1 / K2 PA system to complement the new stage design. Adlib also provided DiGiCo consoles at both ends of the multicore. The lineup of artists included David Guetta, Ellie Goulding, Miley Cyrus, Enrique Iglesias, Pharrell Williams, Calvin Harris, 5 Seconds of Summer and numerous others.

CALABRIA, Italy – Outline Butterfly and Mantas loudspeaker systems amplified the voice of Pope Francis on the occasion of the Holy Mass celebrated on the Plain of Sibari here before an estimated 250,000 worshippers June 21. The rig included 56 Butterfly modules, 24 Mantas modules and 24 Subtech 218 for low-end reinforcement. In the vicinity of the Papal chair, two Outline DVS 8, two stage monitor H.A.R.D. 212 and two H.A.R.D. 115 speakers were installed. The choir had other H.A.R.D. 212 monitors at its disposal, while Tripla, Doppia and DVS 10 enclosures covered other areas of the stage. Dee Jay Service from Rende (Cosenza) provided the gear.

LONDON – Last year, Martin Audio’s MLA technology took on the noise leakage challenges posed by big concert performances at London’s Hyde Park and its close proximity to residential neighborhoods. This year, AEG Live, promoters of the British Summer Time Hyde Park festival, adopted a similar MLA solution. The main PA features eight JBL VTX V20 loudspeakers, four S25 subwoofers, complemented by two VTX F15s plus VTX F12, VTX F18S and STX812M stage monitors. BANGALORE, India — Harman provided a complete live sound system and Martin lighting for the An Ode to the Blues festival in Bangalore, India. Two stages were equipped with a variety of JBL loudspeakers including four VRX 900 Series loudspeakers, two STX828 dual-18-inch subwoofers, two PRX615M powered loudspeakers and two STX815M loudspeakers. The loudspeakers were powered by Crown VRACK complete, self-contained amplifier systems, which include I-Tech HD Series power amps, analog and digital connections and a globally universal power distribution system, all housed in wheeled rack with a suspension system that enables VRACK to be flown if desired.

SCHEESSEL, Germany – For the Hurricane festival, where headliners Arcade Fire, Volbeat, Seeed, Kraftklub, and Fettes Brot, among others, drew 70,000 visitors, TVN Mobile Production GmbH brought their Ü3 OB truck (equipped with a Lawo mc²66) and a mobile control room (with a Lawo mc²56) to mix the live broadcast sound from the two main stages and make multitrack recordings for later broadcast.

The setup includes T-Series including the T10 in a flown LCR configuration. The L-R hangs also include 27A SUBs from the d&b xA-Series flown immediately behind them. More T10s are stacked L-R at stage level atop d&b V-Series V-SUBs.
