Adlib Supplies Gear for 2014 Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium

LONDON – Adlib supplied audio crew and equipment for Capital FM’s Summertime Ball event, staged at Wembley Stadium here June 21. System Engineer Tony Szabo designed an L-Acoustics K1 / K2 PA system to complement the new stage design. Adlib also provided DiGiCo consoles at both ends of the multicore. The lineup of artists included David Guetta, Ellie Goulding, Miley Cyrus, Enrique Iglesias, Pharrell Williams, Calvin Harris, 5 Seconds of Summer and numerous others.

Pope Francis’ Plain of Sibari Mass Reinforced with Outline Loudspeakers

CALABRIA, Italy – Outline Butterfly and Mantas loudspeaker systems amplified the voice of Pope Francis on the occasion of the Holy Mass celebrated on the Plain of Sibari here before an estimated 250,000 worshippers June 21. The rig included 56 Butterfly modules, 24 Mantas modules and 24 Subtech 218 for low-end reinforcement. In the vicinity of the Papal chair, two Outline DVS 8, two stage monitor H.A.R.D. 212 and two H.A.R.D. 115 speakers were installed. The choir had other H.A.R.D. 212 monitors at its disposal, while Tripla, Doppia and DVS 10 enclosures covered other areas of the stage. Dee Jay Service from Rende (Cosenza) provided the gear.

This year, AEG Live, promoters of the British Summer Time Hyde Park festival, adopted a similar MLA solution. Capital Sound once again deployed MLA and MLA Compact gear, filling the ears of festival attendees listening to McFly and Busted (McBusted, pictured here) while sharply limiting the noise levels registered offsite.

World Cup Concert in Rio Heard via DPA Microphones

RIO DE JANEIRO – Audio producer Jesse Lewis knew he needed reliable microphones for the the World Cup Concert, which was broadcast live from HSBC Arena here July 11 and featured performances by Plácido Domingo, soprano Ana María Martínez, Chinese pianist Lang Lang and the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, among others. Lewis, pictured here, turned to DPA Microphones for its range of d:dicate recording mics, including the 4006 Omnidirectional, 4011 Cardioid and 4041 Large Diaphragm solutions.

Harman Provides Sound For Kopparberg Urban Forest Festival

LONDON  – The Kopparberg Urban Forest Festival will feature a complete sound reinforcement system composed of Harman AKG microphones, Crown amplifiers, JBL loudspeakers and Soundcraft mixing consoles. The main PA features eight JBL VTX V20 loudspeakers, four S25 subwoofers, complemented by two VTX F15s plus VTX F12, VTX F18S and STX812M stage monitors. The system is powered with two Crown VRack 4×3500 HD systems and an I-Tech 5000 HD amplifier.

BANGALORE, India — Harman provided a complete live sound system and Martin lighting for the An Ode to the Blues festival in Bangalore, India. Two stages were equipped with a variety of JBL loudspeakers including four VRX 900 Series loudspeakers, two STX828 dual-18-inch subwoofers, two PRX615M powered loudspeakers and two STX815M loudspeakers. The loudspeakers were powered by Crown VRACK complete, self-contained amplifier systems, which include I-Tech HD Series power amps, analog and digital connections and a globally universal power distribution system, all housed in wheeled rack with a suspension system that enables VRACK to be flown if desired.
