LONDON – Californian band, Of Mice & Men, recently supported Linkin Park on the European leg of the Hunting Party arena tour, with Allen & Heath GLD-80 mixers performing both FOH and Monitor duties.

OSLO, Norway – Norway’s Susanna, one of the most original artists currently working in the Nordic music scene, has been making the most of DPA Microphones’ d:facto Vocal Microphone that she acquired last year from the company’s Norwegian distributor Lyd-Systemer AS. The mic was used during her recent tour, which visited U.S., Canada, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Austria and the U.K.

LONDON – One of London Mayfair’s most famous and finest dining establishments has received a major £3 million renovation and refurbishment, with a discreet yet powerful audio system designed and installed by SSE Audio Group. Quaglino’s, the iconic 240-cover restaurant and late-night venue was originally opened by Giovanni Quaglino in 1929 and is now owned and operated by D&D London – a long-term client of SSE Installations. The establishment re-opened in October 2014 after a redesign by leading high-end hospitality designers, Russell Sage Studio.

LONDON – Following a successful U.K. and European arena tour in 2012, Live Nation and SJM Concerts announced another outing for Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds. The production returned for the sixth and final time in late 2014 early 2015, with RG Jones Sound Engineering producing.

ČAKOVEC, Croatia – The Arcus Cafè and Night Bar have a long and enviable reputation as one of Čakovec’s premier hot spots for entertainment.  Situated in northern Croatia, the town and its surrounding area serve a population of nearly forty five thousand. The club itself has been open since 1998 and has recently undergone a thorough refit. GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany – The New Year’s Ski-Jumping of the Four Hills Tournament in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is the first sporting highlight of the year. This year, more than 20,000 fans lined the landing area while millions more followed the TV broadcast. For the 17th time TC Showtechnik was responsible for the sound reinforcement system – and opted for main and supplementary systems from Electro-Voice. Despite the challenging weather conditions, the XLC and XLVC line arrays, Xsubs, TG amps and N8000 controllers performed flawlessly.

VERDEN/STRAUBING, Germany – For the Cathedral of Verden, which dates from the 13th century, Axel Hartig replaced a 40-year-old sound reinforcement system with a new eight-zone system centering on Dynacord vertical arrays.

GRONINGEN, The Netherlands – Mertens AVR, which has long been an important player in the Dutch live sound rental and production services market, has purchased an SSL Live. L500 console to serve as the premier mixing solution for its clients. Currently in use for a four-month-long national comedy tour, Mertens’ Live console has also been reserved for an extensive project list of classical music concerts that takes them well into the spring. The console was supplied to Mertens by SSL Live Distributor for the Netherlands, Audio Electronics Mattijsen.

TOKYO — Tokyo’s Blue Note Club recently played host to Danish Jazz producer and pianist Niels Lan Doky, who took his own DPA d:facto Vocal Microphone to Japan, along with his DPA 3521 Cardiod Compact stereo kit to mic Blue Note’s grand piano. Lan Doky performed with Swedish singer and actress Edda Magnason. Also on stage were the other two thirds of Niels’ jazz trio – drummer Niclas Bardeleben and bass player Ira Coleman.

HIGH WYCOMBE, U.K. – Martin Audio has announced support for installers and sound designers with the provision of specific GLL files for designs using MLA, MLA Compact or MLA Mini in an EASE model.
