Fulcrum Acoustic’s FA22ac, featured at InfoComm 2013, adds a second 3-way multi-purpose speaker to Fulcrum’s FA series, and features onboard amplification and DSP from Powersoft. The FA22ac makes use of a dual 12” coax system and, in keeping with the FA range, promises a combination of high performance and portability. The FA22ac, which weighs about 60 pounds, can be pole- or yoke-mounted or used as a floor monitor, with either a vertical or horizontal orientation.

FaitalPRO Adds Three Ferrite Woofers

FaitalPro has three new ferrite woofers, including the 18-inch 18HW1070, 12-inch 12FH530 and 10-inch10FH530. The 18HW1070 boasts a nominal output of 1,600W AES and 3,200W max, with a 4-inch voice coil fitted with a cooling circuit that constitutes an evolution of the solutions adopted in the 18XL1600 and new basket design. The 12FH530 and 10FH530 are designed for mid-woofer applications. Declared power for both are 500W AES nominal with 1,000W peaks.

Two-Inch Exit Compression Drivers

In many ways, the 2-inch (exit) compression driver forms the heart of the typical large-format sound reinforcement speaker. True, other versions of compression drivers — from half-inch to four-inch exit models — exist, but the 2-inch versions offer a combination of efficiency, power handling (band-limited, of course) and serious midrange punch that has made these such a popular component in high-output live sound systems for more than a half century.

It has been in beta test, was previewed at InfoComm 2013, and is expected to be available this fall.
