At IBC 2014 in Amsterdam, Lawo launched the mc²36 audio console – an all-in-one mixing desk, with a comprehensive feature set that covers broadcast, theater, house of worship, live and install applications. Available in 16/24/40-fader frames, the mc²36’s powerful DSP micro-core has an internal 512×512 port audio matrix, with integrated I/O to make it suited for permanent installs with limited space, as well as to rental companies.

At the 2014 IBC show in Amsterdam, Avid announced the Avid VENUE | S3L-X compact live sound system, which builds on the success of the Avid | S3L system. With the new system, sound reinforcement pros can more readily meet the increasing scope, complexity and diversity of today’s live sound requirements. VENUE | S3L-X — combined with Avid’s Pro Tools software lets engineers mix and record live shows with power and efficiency, and create new material or mix down live recordings for commercial purposes.

Debuting at this week’s IBC Show in Amsterdam is ANNA-LISA, a compact, handheld MADI analyzer and signal generator equipped with SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) optical and BNC MADI I/Os that provides straightforward, immediate analysis of any MADI input. Signal condition, input level and jitter can be monitored directly at the device. More detailed information, such as protocol and user bit checks, is accessible through an external application via USB and Bluetooth. The integrated signal generator makes ANNA-LISA a convenient, all-round tool for any MADI environment. The device is powered by an integrated battery and chargeable via USB.

d&b audiotechnik has unveiled its new Y-Series loudspeakers suitable for any small to medium sized sound reinforcement. “Since the Y-Series combines both line and point source technologies, the application possibilities are endless, ranging from performing arts to conferences, religious events and live shows,” said Product Manager Werner ‘Vier’ Bayer. “This has been an exciting and illuminating project; we see this Series becoming the workhorse of our industry, on every end of the spectrum. From point source to line source, Y-not?”

Based on the StudioLive AI-series engine and controlled with battle-ready UC Surface software for Mac, Windows and iOS, the StudioLive RM16AI and RM32AI 32x16x3 rack-mount Active Integration digital mixers are scalable, compact and 100 percent recallable. PreSonus’ new UC Surface control software was specifically designed for live mixing and supports iPad and Windows 8 touchscreens.

d&b audiotechnik announced that d&b R1 remote control software V2.2.1 is now available for download from the company’s website. It incorporates the Open Control Architecture (OCA) protocol to communicate over Ethernet with D80 amplifiers. dB Technologies recently upgraded their active subwoofer offerings with the new SUB H Series of 15” (pictured here) and 18” hybrid horn-loaded cabinets. The new design promises extended low-frequency range and high performance output while reducing the cabinet weight and increasing power efficiency.

New features and enhancements in 4.9.0 include recurring billing, warehouse bins functionality, a new virtually scan all in feature, the ability to turn off and on automatic availability calculations in quotes, cheat sheets, pricing tier minimums, support for A4 paper size printing for reports, a new pending returns tab and other improvements. Additionally, a native iOS iPad/iPhone version for Flex users is slated for fall release.
