L-Acoustics is today lauching Syva, a new format, high power speaker system featuring six medium-frequency and three high-frequency speakers in a sleek J-shaped progressive curvature format. The groundbreaking transducer arrangement, called segment source (patent pending), produces an H/V 140° x 26° (+5/-21°) directivity pattern that is optimized for exceptional surface coverage and 115 feet (35m) of throw.

To coincide with the launch of dLive C Class, Allen & Heath has released a major firmware update to all dLive mixers, further enhancing the functionality and processing capabilities of the system, plus a package of warranty and service upgrades to customers of its flagship dLive S Class.

At NAMM 2017, Cerwin Vega launched three new powered speaker lines for small to large audio needs: CVE, CVX and CVXL. The CVE group of four powered speakers represents the line’s most compact systems. The CVX is a more powerful, medium-sized line, also with four powered speakers and a subwoofer. The CVXL, for larger applications requiring more output, comprises five powered speakers: single 12”, 15”, or dual 15” tops, and single 18” or dual 21” subwoofer.

Kaltman Creations launches the RF-Compass, an automated antenna tracker system for wireless microphones and IEM equipment. Kristin Kaltman says, “Equipping your directional antennas with the ability to pan and rotate to track your performers’ movements just makes sense; it eliminates the ‘wireless risk’ without eliminating your wireless altogether. It is as close to hard wired as wireless can get!”

dB Technologies’ new Opera series features three completely redesigned 10”, 12”, and 15” loudspeaker cabinets with 1200 W peak power. Opera’s asymmetrical horn has been completely redesigned to obtain both an asymmetrical vertical dispersion and a double horizontal dispersion, ensuring an optimized throw pattern. The speaker series is adaptable to both playback and live music applications.

Italian pro audio manufacturer dB Technologies is premiering its B·H Powered Speaker Series at NAMM 2017. The family includes four two-way cabinets, all of which have been equipped with 1” compression drivers and respectively 8”, 10”, 12” and 15” woofers. Each cabinet can be used horizontally as a stage monitor (with two angles) and features a pole mount cup for a tripod stand or stacked on dB Technologies Subwoofer.

DirectOut enhances the scope of its M.1K2 MADI Routing System with two new functions: a LUA Scripting Engine and SFP.IO SMART I/O board. The scripts allow the M.1K2 to react immediately in emergency situations without the need to know the system and its configuration. SFP.IO Smart is a new I/O board allowing MADI signal quality analysis and the interrogation of information using appropriate SFP modules.

Sensaphonics has expanded its Active Ambient line with its 3D-U universal-fit earphones. The 3D-U models, which debuted at winter NAMM 2017, are designed to serve as an affordable alternative to custom fit earphones. They will begin shipping Feb. 1.

At NAMM 2017, HK Audio has unveiled Lucas Nano 602, its latest and most affordable member of the Lucas Nano 600 series of professional, portable PA systems. Lucas Nano 602 is designed to accommodate any musician or DJ who prefers to use their own external mixer. Weighing in at just 16.3 kg/36 lbs, the PA can be easily transported.

Focusrite’s Red 8Pre interface is available now. With 64 inputs and 64 outputs (including a total of 16 analog inputs and 18 analog outputs) and eight of Focusrite’s digitally-controlled mic preamps, the Red 8Pre answers the need for more microphone inputs and a higher I/O count.

At NAMM, Sennheiser launches two new radio microphone series: XS Wireless 1 and – in a preview – XS Wireless 2. The XS Wireless 1 series comprises a range of six wireless microphone sets for the budget-conscious user looking for ease of use, fast set-up and reliable transmission. The XS Wireless 2 series takes the benefits of XSW 1 even further, designed for users who need greater flexibility and control. XS Wireless 2 becomes available in April.

Meyer Sound’s Galileo Galaxy network platform has been certified by the AVnu Alliance as fully compliant with the open AVB/TSN networking protocols developed through IEEE. The certification assures consultants, system designers and rental company operators that Meyer Sound systems based around Galaxy can be integrated into larger networked audio and video systems involving input, playback and processing components from multiple manufacturers.
