Shure Microflex® Wireless High Density Mode Now Shipping

The firmware version 5.1.23 of Shure’s Microflex Wireless system conferencing microphones is officially available. This update includes High Density mode, enabling users to operate twice as many microphones simultaneously. In High Density mode, the maximum channel count for the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Mexico, and most of South America will increase from 40 to 80, while Europe, The Middle East, and parts of Asia will increase from 80 to 160 channels.

L-Acoustics Syva

Making its USA debut this week at InfoComm, the new L-Acoustics Syva system features six MF and three HF drivers in a J-shaped progressive curvature format. The arrangement produces a 140 x 26 (+5/-21) degree directivity optimized for wide coverage and 115 feet of throw. It can be paired with the dual-12 Syva Low sub or single-12 Syva Sub infra extension to achieve 142 dB max SPLs and bandwidth down to 40 Hz. Syva can be wall- or pole-mounted, flown or used alone with its baseplate. One LA4X amplified controller can drive up to four Syva enclosures.

Since its original release, the Mirizio Microphone mount, designed to simplify microphone mounting in grand pianos with the lid closed, has been updated with a few changes. The company announced that, with the V3 version, all parts that touch the instrument are coated with felt, “because rental houses often frown on clamps or tape that can mar the harp of the piano,” according to the company. In addition, all aluminum parts are anodized black and etched with the name and logo for a timeless finish. The plate screws are shorter so they don’t protrude, and the company also offers a new storage case option.
