Rational Acoustics announces the release of Smaart v8.4, the fourth major version update to its flagship Smaart v8 measurement platform. This free update includes many significant feature additions, interface modifications and bug fixes and is recommended for all Smaart v8 users. Smaart v8.4 expands on the already powerful SPL monitoring capability of Smaart v8. Primary feature additions in Smaart v8.4 include a robust new set of SPL data logging and interface improvements, a new Web browser interface for remotely viewing inputs that are actively logging SPL, 64-bit support for MacOS Catalina, new hotkeys for averaging dialogs, and other performance enhancements.

Inspired by legends in rock ‘n’ roll, the first launch in JH Audio’s ICON Series of custom IEMs is Jimi, which features seven balanced armatures, a 7-pin cable design, built-in acoustic sound chamber and Purple Haze — a signature design crafted from wood and resin, with gold logos. Dual-LF, single-mid and quad-HF armatures provide a 10 Hz to 23k Hz response, with bass adjustable to +12 dB. Loudspeaker manufacturer PK Sound announces a major update to its Kontrol product management software. Kontrol 2.5 includes an upgraded user interface and streamlined menu system to add support for tablet and mobile device users. The software — which gives users the ability to make precise adjustment to PK’s products in real-time, including the robotic Trinity and Trinity10 line arrays — also now has increased compatibility with PK’s install and manual-series offerings, as well as some small tweaks to provide a more stable platform. In addition to the upgraded user interface, Kontrol 2.5 also adds compatibility with the Manual and Install versions of PK Sound’s Trinity and Gravity speakers, giving users precise control over their internal DSP. The update is available now to all Kontrol users.

Version 4.6 of Meyer Sound’s Compass control software offers full control of Meyer Sound devices, including the Milan-certified Galaxy processors, with new firmware for the Galileo Galaxy network platform processors, CAL beam-steering column array speakers and the RMServer for remote system monitoring. No custom network configuration is necessary; all benefits of AVB networks are retained and the software is available for Windows and Mac platforms.
