Middle Atlantic Products added three new options to its MPR Series Modular Power Raceway Systems: a 30 Amp controlled raceway module and two options for Neutrik powerCON connectors. The new additions promise to meet changing power distribution requirements for AV systems.

VUE Audiotechnik’s new al-8 Compact Line Array System makes use of two 8-inch woofers flanking four 4-inch Neodymium mid drivers and a central pair of 1-inch exit, neodymium compression drivers with beryllium diaphragms.  The al-8 follows Vue’s al-4 subcompact line array system. It has been in beta test, was previewed at InfoComm 2013, and is expected to be available this fall.

Clear-Com’s new ICON Connectivity Solutions, a collection of communications products that link local or geographically distributed intercom systems over Ethernet/IP networks and/or optical fiber, promises to serve as a reliable, high performance, scalable and cost-effective communications solution on common infrastructures. “ICON” stands for “Intercom CONnectivity Solutions.”

Aphex updated the company’s Audio Xciter app for the Android platform of smartphones and tablets, giving Android users the ability to listen to WAV, M4A, WMA and AAC files with sample rates from 8kHz all the way to 48kHz. Additionally, MP3 files are now supported at bit rates of 96 kbps to 320 kbps.

Smaller yet is the PRO 1031-A, which packs 400W RMS, a 10-inch woofer and 1-inch compression driver, yet delivers 131 dB peaks.

A free app from the iTunes store lets users of the popular JoeCo BlackBox Recorder or BlackBox Player (24- or 64-channel) remotely control all transport functions (Play, Stop, Record) from an iPad, as well as access the BlackBox menu structure for changing settings. The JoeCoRemote also provides an accurate metering overview for the BlackBox Recorder and can be used to remotely control/edit BlackBox Player playlists, as well as remotely trigger playlists during shows, theatre performances and themed entertainment.
