The new SBH-10 “Skinny Big Horn” represents Danley Sound Laboratories’ entry into the column speaker market. It promises to combine the aesthetic benefits of a column speaker with fidelity, superior pattern control, no spurious lobes, and no requirement for complicated signal processing.

Yamaha’s R Remote software, a standalone application for use with the company’s R Series input/output rack units, gives users remote control of R Series Rio3224-D, Rio1608-D and Ri8-D rack unit head amplifiers directly from a computer. With R Remote, a live recording system can be created with just R Series I/O racks and a computer running Nuendo Live or similar DAW software. Combined with the I/O racks, R Remote can be used with consoles that up until now have not been able to support remote head amp control, such as the 02R96 or 01V96i.

Flare Audio’s SM15 Stage Monitor is designed to help live music venues optimize stage space. The compact (384mm x 595mm x 421mm) and lightweight (28kg) units are designed with 15″ and 1″ drivers capable of producing ample power (Max SPL of 133.5dB) for a wide array of applications.

CAD Audio has added the new AS22 and AS16 to its growing line of Acousti-shield stand mounted acoustic enclosures.

VUE Audiotechnik’s compact h-8 joins the company’s other h-class loudspeakers, including the larger h-12 and h-15 systems. The h-8 combines an 8-inch transducer with a neodymium compression driver featuring a Truextent beryllium diaphragm at its core.

Grund’s new GQ Series loudspeakers can be used  in PA-type enclosures, positioned on the side as floor monitors or be pole mounted. The five-model series includes the GQ-10, GQ-12. GQ-15, GQ-153, and GQ-18S. The GQ-10, GQ-12, and GQ-15 are 2-way designs that employ a 1-inch high frequency compression driver with rotatable horns mated to their respective low frequency transducer. The GQ-153 is a 3-way design encompassing a 1-inch high frequency compression driver with rotatable horn, an 8–inch mid driver, and a 15-inch low frequency transducer. The GQ-18S is a sub bass system featuring an 18-inch low frequency transducer in a bass reflex enclosure.

At the 2014 I.S.E. show, Christie Digital unveiled Vive Audio, a full line of installation speakers for auditorium/theater applications. The Christie Vive Audio line array speakers combine advanced ribbon driver technology with a unique coaxial articulated line array design to provide greatly enhanced clarity, dramatically reduced distortion and ultra-fast transient response. All the standard line array models feature multiple 3.5-inch ribbon neodymium HF drivers and Kevlar cone midranges, arranged in a coaxial array with 120×30-degree (HxV) dispersion.

Hosa Technology’s new Edge Series cable products feature Neutrik connectors and Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) conductors. And because Hosa Edge consists of microphone, guitar, and speaker cables, it can be used along the entire signal chain. The cable products were featured at Winter NAMM 2014, Booth# 5590 (Hall B).
