By combining Cat-5/6/7 network lines with digital audio and/or DMX feeds with (or without) AC powering in a single robust S-PVC jacket, Sommer Cable’s new MonoCAT hybrid cable series is ideal for installations, conferencing or portable applications. All have large gauge conductors for transmitting gigabit Ethernet, audio or AC up to 100 meters. Four versions are offered: single Cat-7 plus AC; two Cat-7 and two digital audio or DMX lines — with or without AC power; and four Cat-7 feeds plus AC power and four digital audio/DMX lines.

Harman’s JBL Professional added eight new low-cost models to its wide range of AE Series installation loudspeaker systems. The new AE Series models include six 2-way, full-range systems and two subwoofer models.

D.A.S. Audio’s Action series of products expands with a new single 18″ subwoofer. The new low frequency unit is aimed at the mobile DJ and portable systems market, where attributes like compact size and high output are especially appreciated.

The new JBL Intellivox HP-DS370 active beam shaping loudspeaker array promises high output and unmatched directivity control for a loudspeaker in its category. The HP-DS370 measure 3.7 meters in height and has an output capability of 105 dB at 30 meters, along with a frequency response to 18kHz. The horizontal dispersion is 100 degrees and the typical throw is around 50 meters, which means an area of approximately 2,150 square meters can be covered by a single device.

JBL’s new Control HST wide-coverage loudspeaker features HST Hemispherical Soundfield Technology. The company says its indoor/outdoor loudspeaker features very wide horizontal coverage approaching 180° and uses the wall it’s mounted on to its advantage.

Audio-Technica is now shipping its ATH-M70x Professional Monitor Headphones, the new flagship model in A-T’s M-Series line of headphones.

Outline’s STADIA100 LA range, for stadium and other large-scale audio installation projects, promise up to 149 dB with a peak input power handling of 8kW. They are designed to combine accuracy with directional control over long distances for intelligible full-range audio throughout very large spaces.

PORTLAND, OR — Ear Trumpet Labs, a privately owned company in Portland OR that makes handcrafted microphones, today announced the release of a new stereo microphone, Evelyn. Evelyn is a stereo mic consisting of two closely matched medium-large diaphragm capsules mounted in individually pivoting head baskets spaced at the correct distance for the ORTF stereo recording technique. Both the capsules and the JFET transistors for each side of the stereo pair are exactingly hand-matched for perfect stereo imaging. The electronics are hand-wired using the finest components, and the result is spectacularly natural stereo sound.
