LAS VEGAS – Neutrik USA announces opticalCON 
MTP24 Fiber Optic Solutions, optimized for pro AV and broadcast applications and ideal for long cable runs and point-to-point wiring where high fiber counts are required. The new 24-channel fiber optic connection system will be available 
in both opticalCON Advanced and opticalCON Lite versions in the second quarter of 2017. Neutrik will display the products at NAB April 22-27 in Las Vegas.

The next-gen of QSC’s K Family powered speakers, the new K.2 Series is comprised of the 8-inch K8.2, 10-inch K10.2 and 12-inch K12.2 fullrange models, and the KS212C — a compact 2,600-watt, dual-12 cardioid subwoofer. Each fullrange K.2 model features: onboard 2,000-watt powering and DMT (Directivity-Matched Transition) for smooth coverage. Built-in DSP offers Intrinsic Correction voicing, selectable presets and advanced system management. All three models can be used as for P.A. or floor monitoring and can be flown, wall/truss-mounted or placed on a speaker pole — either straight-firing or with a -7.5-degree down-tilt. K.2 Series availability begins in mid-May, with the KS212C cardioid sub slated for late summer 2017.

Making its North American debut at the 2017 NAB Show, Riedel is touting its new Bolero product as a game-changing new wireless intercom solution. An expandable, full-roaming, DECT-based intercom system in the license-free 1.9GHz frequency range, Bolero is fully integrated into Riedel’s Artist digital matrix intercom platform.

DirectOut has introduced a firmware update for its Andiamo series of audio converters. The firmware version 6.4 summing feature enables communication signals to be gathered from a larger number of devices (e.g. remote/mobile cameras), and to be distributed as a bundle throughout a production site.

DiGiCo is launching the 32-bit ‘John Stadius’ Mic Pre-Amp at Prolight + Sound 2017. This new improvement in converter technology has allowed John and his team to develop a Pre-Amp with audio qualities that they have long aspired to achieve during their 40 years of designing such products.

The new DiGiCo S App controls the DiGiCo S-Series console straight from an Apple iPad. Designed to be compatible with DiGiCo’s S21 and S31, it allows remote, wireless control of any DiGiCo S-Series mixing console wherever one may be.
 
The DiGiCo S App permanently displays an overview of the console layout, allowing the user to select any available console bank and have the same user-friendly operation, without being tied to a console.
 


Point Source Audio (PSA) is introducing the CO2-8WL Lavalier, which is two microphones in one supporting two separate wireless transmitters. The microphone is targeted for artists requiring mic backup assurance in live broadcasts and production environments. The matched redundant microphone will be available as a standalone lavalier (CO2-8WL) that is part of the company’s Series8 category of performance microphones. Additionally, it will be offered within the Embrace category of earmountable lavaliers when absolute mic concealment is needed.

Riedel Communications introduces a new wireless intercom, Bolero, whose features and connectivity can be applied three ways: as a wireless beltpack, as a wireless keypanel, and as a walkie-talkie radio using an integrated mic and speaker. Bolero is an expandable, full-roaming, DECT-based intercom system in the license-free 1.9GHz frequency range.

Allen & Heath expands the interface options for its dLive mixing system with superMADI and a range of AES3 I/O cards. Designed to help integrate dLive into a wide range of applications, the superMADI interface card’s connectivity possibilities include eight BNC connectors and four SFP slots for fiber optic transceivers. Both coaxial and optical formats offer up to 128 I/O at 96k Hz each, and redundancy and sample rate are switchable per link pair, with a choice of Smux or High-Speed 96k Hz mode. The four AES3 cards’ I/O formats are comprised of 2-in/8-out, 4-in/6-out, 6-in/4-out, and 10-out. The cards’ output sample rate is switchable between 96kHz, 88.2kHz, 48kHz and The new cards can be fitted in the audio networking slots of any dLive S Class or dLive C Class Surface or MixRack.

Yamaha announced today the release of firmware update v3.5 for the company’s TF Series Digital Mixers. The update  will significantly expand the utility of the Yamaha TF Series with the addition of the Dugan Speech System automixing capability. Yamaha TF firmware update v3.5 is a free update scheduled for release at the end of May 2017.

K-array introduces its new Mastiff line of monitors. Comprised of the KM312, KM312P, KM112 and KM11P, the Mastiff line features an asymmetrical 100° by 30° horn granting performers the possibility to select a wide or narrow sound emission. The monitors are also built to physically withstand any onstage abuse, with a steel grill and sturdy birch wood chassis.

Meyer Sound’s Leo Family of linear sound reinforcement systems has been expanded with the addition of the diminutive new Lina compact linear line array loudspeaker and companion 750-LFC compact low frequency control element. Easily the smallest and lightest in the series, Lina and 750-LFC bring the inherent linearity, low distortion and exceptional power-to-size ratio of Leo Family technology to a wider range of applications and venues. The self-powered Lina loudspeaker measures only 20.27 inches (515 mm) wide and weighs in at a mere 43 lbs. (19.5 kg), making it an ideal choice when discreet appearance, portability and hanging weight restrictions are critical considerations. Also, because Lina shares the same structural footprint as Meyer Sound’s current Mina line array loudspeakers, owners of Mina systems can add Lina to their existing inventory using the same rigging and mounting hardware. Mixed systems of Mina and Lina are compatible using the delay integration in Compass control software.Both products are expected to ship by June 1, 2017.
