RCF has added the 3-way TTL6-A line source to its Touring & Theatre range.
More details from RCF (www.rcf-usa.com):
This high power, three way, active line source, engineered to deliver high fidelity output, both indoors and outdoors, will serve a wide variety of medium-to-large-space applications.
The loudspeaker has been engineered to provide all the advantages of line array technology, such as high direct sound, increased range and a uniform level distribution, with additional ease of use. It is the ideal sound set-up if the system is preferred stacked and a wider dispersion with high dynamic range is required.
The design philosophy forTTL-6A and all the new TT+ series is based upon offering the sound engineer solutions and tools that are ready to use — and a key factor is the ability to sustain very high power with highly efficient sound pressure levels and extended dynamic range.
The TTL6-A is equipped with 2 x 12” woofers for bass, 4 x 6.5″ midranges and a 2″ compression driver with waveguide for distinctive homogenous directivity.
Through the asymmetrical horn design, the sound energy is accurately projected and unwanted reflections are avoided. This horn design allows a perfect cascading of two TTL6-A for excellent control of the directional characteristics — even in difficult acoustic environments, with significantly increased range.
In terms of acoustic design, the TTL6-A is the result of an advanced acoustic design, complemented by state of the art digital power amplifiers and a group of innovative processing algorithms that take care of the speaker linearity and its dynamic control.
The integration of four channels of 550-Watt digital amplification and the advanced RDNet digital processing set a new standard for distortion, noise and thermal efficiency.
Two independent digital amplifiers 550 Watt each for the low frequencies, 700W for the mid frequency woofers and 400W for the driver deliver an astonishing output power, making the TTL6-A a very powerful 3 way module. These offer hi-fi sound, extremely low distortion with negligible quiescent noise and stable burst response. Thanks to their efficiency no fans are required, and thus they operate silently.
The 32-bit, floating point DSP manages:
- 3-way system crossover and transducers alignment
- Programmable system equalization
- Input gain reduction
- Soft limiter and gentle compressor for very high signal inputs
- RMS current monitoring and transducer protection.
A dedicated processing area is available through the integrated RDNet input board. Remote monitoring, special custom equalizations, high and low pass, solo and mute for each way, and many other options all are available on RDNet.
The rear panel features a simple rotary encoder to control all the speaker functions, with a bright 7-segment display to help system set-up, while a simple command from RDNet will totally disable the input panel.
Modern construction materials result in mechanical weight ratios that are light for practical flying and portability.
The cabinet itself is made in high quality Baltic birch plywood with every layer glued with a special adhesive; this makes the cabinet completely water resistant. In addition, a special polyurea paint coating of makes it highly resistant to scratches and bumps.
The internal structure is heavily braced to survive long term use and transportation and
the cabinet is further boosted by two die-cast aluminum side handles, with rubber hand-grips which can be used in three different directions to facilitate transportation and loading operations.
With a choice of rigging accessories, and convenient fixing points for rigging hardware, the TTL6-A is easy to handle, fly and install. This remarkable versatility makes it the go-to speaker for every sound reinforcement situation — and in particular Theaters, Auditoriums, Live Sound, Stadiums, Arenas, Club Systems, Corporate Events, A/V Presentations and Houses of worship.
