The JDV Mk5 all-discrete Class-A active direct box is intended for bass and acoustic instruments — though useable with any source. The design has two switchable inputs, each with a volume control, signal presence/overload LEDs and variable high-pass filter. Input-A has a Drag load correction control to replicate the sound of a bass amp. A balanced TRS mic input lets the JDV to be used with an instrument-mounted condenser mic. Input-B has a load selector switch for passive basses or piezo pickups and a Blend control combines both inputs, while a Phazer control aligns the two for a natural sound.
