Lab Gruppen announced the addition of E 40:2 and E 20:2 amplifiers to its E Series lineup.
More details from Lab Gruppen (www.labgruppen.com):
Lab Gruppen’s new E 40:2 and E 20:2 amplifiers are designed for professional audio installations and offer robust power, flexibility, and energy efficiency in compact form factors, delivering outstanding audio performance with low lifetime costs.
With power ratings of 4,000 W and 2,000 W, respectively, the E 40:2 and E 20:2 amplifiers harness Lab Gruppen’s IDEEA (IntelliDrive Energy Efficient Amplifier) technology to meet the needs of modern installation applications. Both amplifiers are optimized for efficient power consumption and minimal heat generation, easing demands on electrical distribution and cooling systems while reducing operating costs and environmental impact.
Key Features and Benefits
E 40:2 – 4,000-Watt Amplifier
- High Output & Compact Design: 4,000 W in a 1U rack unit with two flexible output channels, ideal for instal- lations with limited space.
- Versatile Output Configurations: 2 x 2,000 W at 2 Ω 4 Ω, and Hi-Z 70/100 V, or 2 x 1,600 W at 8 Ω, 2 x 800 W at 16 Ω. And up to 3500W single channel max.
- Asymmetric channel loading with power sharing for more power on one channel and supports mixed im- pedance loads for efficient and versatile power distribution.
- Cost-Effective Green Design: Combines IDEEA technology with minimal heat generation and low running costs.
E 20:2 – 2,000-Watt Amplifier
- Efficient, Space-Saving Power: 2,000 W in a 1U rack unit with two flexible output channels, ideal for instal- lations with limited space.
- Versatile Output Configurations: 2 x 1,000 W at 2 Ω, 4 Ω, 8 Ω and Hi-Z 70/100 V, or 2 x 625 W at 16 Ω. And up to 2000W single channel max.
- Asymmetric channel loading with power sharing for more power on one channel and supports mixed im- pedance loads for efficient and versatile power distribution.

Advanced Technology Across the E Series
Both amplifiers feature Lab Gruppen’s Rail Sense Limiter (RSL™), which enhances audio quality by reducing signal clipping and optimizing each output to real-time load conditions. This allows seamless configuration for constant voltage and low impedance applications. The user-friendly RSL settings also facilitate asymmetric channel loading, enabling installers to tailor output for diverse setups, such as driving a Low-Z subwoofer on one channel and multiple Hi-Z 100V ceiling speakers on another.
Flexible Asymmetric Loading and Green Design
Built on Lab Gruppen’s legacy of sonic excellence and rock-solid durability, the E 40:2 and E 20:2 amplifiers support flexible asymmetric loading, allowing total output power to be allocated uniquely across channels or consolidated on a single channel for mono use, or low power requirement on the other. This versatility supports various configurations, including mixed low and high impedance loads in a single system.
Both amplifiers have per-channel high-pass filters, fail-safe circuit protection, and easy-to-use rear panel controls for straightforward installation and commissioning. The auto-standby and auto-power-on features reduce power consumption to less than 1 W in non-operating cycles, reinforcing the E Series’ reputation for sustainable performance and low lifetime costs.
