Klang:fabrik Binaural “3D” In-Ear-Monitoring

KLANG:fabrik from Klang Technologies is a professional rack-mount monitoring mixing engine specifically designed to be used with in-ear monitors. The technology promises individual, natural and three-dimensional sound.

More details from Klang Technologies (www.klang.com):

In 2014 KLANG presented their product idea at ProLight+Sound / Musikmesse, Frankfurt Germany, started production and shipped out first units. In 2015 the company wants to expand to the North American market and is already talking to well-established distribution partners.

“Imagine you are the front singer of a famous rock band – live on stage. You want to turn around to face and hear your drummer,” explains Pascal Dietrich, founder of KLANG:technologies. “Now the sound of your drummer appears exactly where you see your drummer although you wear isolating, probably custom fit in-ear monitors. If you turn around to face your audience you hear the drummer behind you. Everything follows your motions smoothly and naturally.”

Musicians are stunned by the open 3D in-ear sound and are happy with the clean and simple user interface for personal monitoring. High class monitor sound engineers are excited to integrate the technology into their stage setups with their mixing consoles.

The company notes that its optional motion-tracking (“i3D”) even takes it a step further and eliminates the effect, that signals move with your head when you turn it. With i3D every signal stays where it actually is on stage.

In case you own an iPad, you can check out the company’s KLANG:app for a first impression. They included some multi tracks so you can experience the effect offline: https://itunes.apple.com/DE/app/id828918559.
