Cordial CE2P and CE2DP Data/Power Hybrid Cables

Share this Post:

Germany-based cable maker, Cordial, announced two new data/power hybrid cable options promising long distance energy and bandwidth up to 1,000 MHz: Cordial CE2P (pictured here, top) and Cordial CE2DP (bottom). Both combine two strands of Cordial’s long distance cable CCAT 7A Long-Run to produce an effective long distance hybrid cable. The Cordial CE 2DP also features a 2 x 0.22 mm2 cable complying with DMX/AES/EBU standards at a precise 110 ohms impedance. The products are available in 100 to 500 meter lengths, with shorter lengths available as well.

More details from Cordial (www.cordial.eu):

Decreasing prices and an ever-growing demand for higher bandwidths will surely quickly advance the use of 10 Gbit networks for LIVE stage operations. Even today, IP compatible audio networks like RAVENNA and DANTE already transmit 500 audio channels and more via standard Gigabit Ethernet.

If you add other data types like Internet, control networks and uncompressed HD video, though, you will definitely have to revert to 10 Gbit networks with bandwidths of up to 1,000 MHz. And even then, it often makes sense to use two physically separated cables for the network connection or employ the second line to double the backbone capacity.

With this in mind, the two new hybrid cables introduced by the German cable manufacturer CORDIAL are surely future-proof. Featuring a powerful 2.5 mm2 power supply, the CORDIAL CE 2 P combines two strands of CORDIAL’s long distance cable CCAT 7A Long-Run, resulting in a perfect long distance hybrid cable. The same goes for the CORDIAL CE 2DP which, additionally, features a 2 x 0.22 mm2 cable complying with DMX / AES/EBU standards at a precise 110 ohms impedance.

Suggested retail price incl. VAT:

CE 2 P, 2 x CCAT7A + 1 x power = 18.50 €/m

CE 2 DP, 2 x CCAT7A + 1 x power + 1 x DMX / AES/EBU = 21.90 €/m
