Designed for studio or sound reinforcement applications, the KU5A is an end-address, unidirectional ribbon design with a supercardioid pattern and a switchable and high-pass filter (-6 dB/octave at 283 Hz) to tame proximity effects.
Onboard 48 VDC phantom-powered electronics (JFET with custom transformer) boost the output for use with virtually any console and the mic handles SPLs of up to 135 dB. An integrated windscreen handles breath pops and wind noise. Street price is $999.
