The heart of many high-output sound reinforcement speakers is the 2-inch (exit) compression driver. Other versions of compression drivers exist — from half-inch to four-inch exit models — but the 2-inch neodymium versions offer a combination of efficiency, power handling, serious midrange punch and light weight that has made these ideal replacements in live sound systems. Looking at current offerings in 2-inch exit neodymium compression drivers, we found a wide range of models from a dozen manufacturers.
