Florida Airport Expansion Plans Include QSC’s Networking System

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL – Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (FLL)'s renovations include the addition of new buildings, with more planned for the future. All are to be networking together using QSC's Q-Sys integrated platform.

CHICAGO – The controversy-stoking theatrical production, White Noise, now playing at Chicago's Royal George Theater, is using a pair of Midas PRO Series digital consoles to anchor what sound designer Garth Helm likes to call "the biggest little show ever."

MIAMI BEACH, FL – The New World Center, the Frank Gehry-designed home of the New World Symphony, has been equipped with Lectrosonics' Digital Hybrid Wireless technology including Venue receivers, SMQV Super-Miniature transmitters, UT handheld transmitters (with VMC cardioid capsules), and ALP500 shark fin antennas to increase reception.

FORT WAYNE, IN – The Expo Center at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum gets used for events that vary from standard convention hall functions to concerts and events as extreme as midget car races. ESCO Communications met the Expo Center's needs with JBL VP Series loudspeakers in accordance with a system design by Acoustical Design Group (ADG).

CLEVELAND, OH – Working with AV integrator AVI/SPL, system designer Westlake Reed Leskosky upgraded the loudspeaker system used for the main exhibit halls at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum (RRHOF) with 14 K-array KK50vbs.

CHICAGO, IL – The new 26,000-square-foot, two-story "Science Storms" exhibit at Chicago's Museum of Science & Industry lets visitors experience a 40-foot tornado, high-voltage lightning and even create a tsunami in a 30-foot wave tank as they try more than 50 hands-on experiments. GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Acoustics by Design oversaw a comprehensive renovation of Calvin College's heptagonal-shaped Covenant Fine Arts Center, which first opened in 1966. The renovation included new classrooms, acoustical treatments, a new 300-seat recital hall for smaller events and a new video and sound system built around Renkus-Heinz loudspeakers.

NEW YORK – Gary Stewart Audio (GSA), in association with RLA, designed the sound system for District 36, a 14,000-square-foot dance club that opened recently in a former clothing factory. The gear list includes 11 K2 DSP+AESOP and four K6 DSP+AESOP Powersoft amplifiers controlled with Powersoft's Armonia Pro Audio Suite software.
