PHILADELPHIA – The sound system at the main auditorium at Temple University's Temple Performing Arts Center was recently upgraded with Renkus-Heinz loudspeakers and subwoofers, part of the improvements budgeted for the space after it was certified as an Historical Building by the Philadelphia Historical Commission and designated a Landmark by the American Institute of Architects.

HOBART, Australia – Production Works is the first soundco in Australia to upgrade its Midas PRO6 digital audio system to a Midas PRO9. The PRO9 package, supplied by Victoria-based Midas distributor National Audio Systems, tops the Midas PRO Series and features an 88 channel input count and 35 buses, with the dual stage boxes offering placement flexibility up to 200 meters apart and 500 meters from the FOH position.

Grammy Awards Show Relies Once More on Audio-Technica, Shure, Other Gear

LOS ANGELES – The 53rd Annual Grammys at the Staples Center featured Barbra Streisand and Bruno Mars, pictured here. Audio-Technica reported that more than 150 of its hard-wired microphones and Artist Elite 5000 series UHF wireless systems were used by Streisand, Mars and others at the event, with mixers also relying on AT4050ST stereo condenser microphones. Shure also reported the use of its gear, from the opening tribute to Aretha Franklin at the top of the show to one of the last segments featuring Mick Jagger.
