MIAMI — KC and the Sunshine Band (KCSB) has been “shaking bootys” since 1973, recently released a new CD with songs from the 1960s, and is still going strong. Touring consistently year after year, the band’s FOH engineer, David Dean, and monitor engineer, Chad Griswold, recently turned to Yamaha CL Digital Audio Consoles for mix detail. Hell & Heaven Metal Fest Makes Use of L-Acoustics K1, K2 Systems

MEXICO CITY – For fans of heavy metal, one of the genre’s meccas this fall was Mexico City, which hosted the Corona Hell & Heaven Metal Fest on Oct. 25. Staged at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodriguez racetrack grounds, heavy hitters KISS, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Rob Zombie, Annihilator, Overkill and others took over two adjacent stages appropriately named “Hell” and “Heaven.” The festival marked Mexico’s first combined use of L-Acoustics’ K1 and K2 systems. two of Mexico’s leading sound-reinforcement providers, Procolor and Serpro, provided the gear.

Country-Themed Event at Drai’s in Las Vegas Gets Low-End Support from Martin Audio WS218X Subwoofers

LAS VEGAS – The Wave, an audio production, rental and sales company based in Las Vegas, recently acquired a dozen of Martin Audio’s WS218X subwoofers, which were quickly deployed at Drai’s Nightclub at the Cromwell Las Vegas and Casino for a country-music themed concert catering to the throngs of visitors in town for the National Finals Rodeo in early December. The concert featured Texas artist Pat Green as headliner and opening act The Dirty River Boys.
