Biamp Systems Promotes Michael Frank, Mark Wentz, Ashley Smith and Jay Paul

BEAVERTON, OR — Biamp Systems noted that, following the retirement of Read Wineland, Michael Frank moves into the role of Eastern North America sales development director; Mark Wentz moves into the position of regional manager for the South Central territory; Ashley Smith joins Biamp as the area manager for South Texas; and Jay Paul becomes the company’s new Mid-Atlantic regional manager.

New 42nd Street Studios Installs FBT Speakers

NEW YORK — For New 42nd Street Studios, a rehearsal space and performing arts complex, director of production David Jensen chose FBT’s Archon 112’s and 115’s for a project that upgraded the audio gear used for eight of the studios. Italian Speaker Imports supplied the gear. Jensen consulted with Simon Nathan, owner of Audio Production Services and a longtime associate, on the audio gear selection.

MONTREAL – Solotech (Montreal) has recently installed a Yamaha Commercial Installation Solutions (CIS) system in two new pubs in and around the Montreal area, Ye Olde Orchard Pub and Lord William Pub (pictured here). The pubs each can comfortably seat 200. The CIS system is almost identical in both pubs consisting of one MTX3 processor, five DCP1V4S digital controllers, three XMV4280 amplifiers, 16 VXS8 speakers, two VXS10S and four VS6 speakers, two IF2112 and one IL1115 Installation Series Speakers, two P5000S-CA amplifiers, and two DXR8-CA speakers used for band and DJ monitors.

NEW YORK – When the SGI-USA New York Culture Center needed a major sound system upgrade in its main auditorium, project consultants SIA Acoustics recommended the VUE Audiotechnik al-4 Subcompact Line Array System, which was then installed by systems integrator Panavid, Inc. The installation at the Buddhist organization’s Union Square center in Manhattan features custom-painted white VUE al-4 speakers paired with VUE V4-i install versions of the V Series systems engines.
