SYDNEY – The revival of the 1956 Broadway production, My Fair Lady, recently logged a record-breaking premiere at the Sydney Opera House, with plans to travels to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney’s Capitol Theatre in 2017. Dame Julie Andrews, the original Eliza Doolittle, directs the production in honor of the play’s 60th anniversary. Along with a few updated production touches, an audio makeover was due. JPJ Audio handled the sound system to ensure the audience could hear the spoken dialogue as well as the lyrics over their  laughter.

DiGiCo Dives into Holidays with America’s Navy

WASHINGTON, DC – The US Navy Band hosts an annual holiday concert at DAR Constitution Hall. The military band currently owns four DiGiCo SD10 desks for its Cruisers contemporary entertainment ensemble, Commodores jazz ensemble, Country Current country-bluegrass ensemble and Sea Chanters chorus. For the third consecutive year, three of these consoles were deployed for the holiday concerts to facilitate mixes for FOH, monitors and live broadcast streaming.

FLORENCE, ITALY – The main holiday attraction in Florence’s historic center is in the form of a large Christmas tree set up in the Piazza del Duomo. For the public tree lighting ceremony, K-array was called upon for a sound solution. They provided an Anakonda system that was hidden among the branches of the great Christmas tree. Three clusters of three Anakonda speakers were hung vertically from the top of the tree and paired with a KU210 sub to provide holiday music to the passersby in the busy square.

Multimedia Musical Uses dLive in Germany

KARLSRUHE, Germany – An Allen & Heath dLive system was used to mix a Christmas musical, “A Star is Born” in Karlsruhe, Germany. Because the production switched between stage, screen and live music, it required a flexible audio system at the helm.
