Audio Logic Helps Eagle Brook Church Fly Higher with New DiGiCo Gear

LINO LAKES, MN – Eagle Brook Church, which upgraded its audio system in 2010 with three DiGiCo SD8 consoles and DiGiRacks for FOH, monitors and video broadcast production, worked with Audio Logic Systems earlier this year to take its audio system higher, swapping two of the SD8s at FOH and monitors with one of DiGiCo's newest 96K/2 gig optics-capable SD 10B broadcast console loaded with the DiGiCo Waves SoundGrid plugin bundle.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – Pro Sound and Video provided the first installed L-Acoustics KARAi system for Christ Fellowship Church here. The system, designed in Soundvision, features three KARAi arrays flown in an LCR configuration (8+9+8 KARAi) concealed in soffits above the stage of the 2,200-seat octagonal sanctuary. Two four-box SB18i sub arrays, each arranged in a cardioid configuration providing focused low-frequency extension for the KARAi mains, are flown in the two spaces between the KARAi, and two SB28 subs are positioned on the floor beneath each KARAi array.

RIGA, Latvia – Real Sound Lab announced Community Professional Loudspeakers as the first CONEQ licensee among professional audio product manufacturers. CONEQ technology will be featured in Community's newest loudspeaker processor, the dSPEC226, which will feature 1024 bands of CONEQ Acoustic Power Frequency equalization on each of the six output channels.

LAS VEGAS – For the iHeartRadio Music Festival, staged at the MGM Grand Arena recently, Firehouse Productions provided two main left-right arrays of 17 JBL VerTec VT4889 and two flown arrays of 12 VT4880A subwoofers, with more speakers and subs for front and side fill, all powered by Crown I-Tech IT1200HD amps with VerTec V5 DSP settings. The event, sponsored by Clear Channel's iHeartRadio social media network, featured performances by Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and many others.

DETROIT – Stage Works oversaw the installation and operation of a sound system deployed for the 2011 summer concert season at 6,000-capacity Chene Park Amphitheater. The setup included 20 HDL 4212 Line Arrays, four HDL 4210 Line Arrays, 18 XMAX 212 subwoofers and a 14-piece ProWedge 212 monitor system for a lineup of artists including Lauryn Hill, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, the O'Jays and others.

LOS ANGELES – Veteran mix engineer Jim Ebdon joined Maroon 5's 2011 tour across the U.S. earlier this year using a DiGiCo SD7 console, the new SD192 Rack and Waves SoundGrid bundle. He was no stranger to DiGiCo gear, having used a D5 for many years on global tours with Maroon 5, as well as with Aerosmith, Matchbox Twenty, Annie Lennox and Sting, and credited the SD192 Rack and Waves plugin for providing a ample boost in power, sonics and other subtle enhancements.

ORLANDO – The 2011 Parnelli Awards, held Oct. 29 at the Peabody Orlando, paid tribute to Lifetime Achievement Award winner Ed Wannebo (personally congratulated with a surprise appearance by a Margarita-bearing Kenny Chesney, pictured here), Audio Innovator Kenton Forsythe, Parnelli Visionary Jim Fackert and winners in 24 other categories for individuals, companies and products that all helped the live production industry take a giant step forward in 2011.

SIOUX FALLS, SD – MuSonics audio designer Peter Borchard specified Lectrosonics' Aspen SPN1624 Digital Audio Processor for auto-mixing and related tasks at St. Joseph Cathedral. He also specified an 8-channel wireless setup with two Lectrosonics VRMWB Venue Series receiver mainframes, six Lectrosonics LMa Digital Hybrid beltpack transmitters and two UT Digital Hybrid Hand-Held Transmitters with the VMO omnidirectional capsules. The beltpack transmitters are paired with a combination of earset and lavaliere microphones from DPA Microphones.
