TORONTO – Kingston Road United Church (KRUC) is part of the 3,500-congregation-strong United Church of Canada – the largest Canadian Protestant denomination. Dave Samwell Specifies Soundcraft Vi6 Console for The Wombats Australia Tour

SYDNEY – Dave Samwell, sound engineer for Liverpool-based indie band The Wombats, specified a Soundcraft Vi6 console for the band's recent Australia tour. Samwell credited the console for its compact size, ease of use, and user layers, which helped the supporting band's engineers get up to speed quickly. Yamaha Training Seminars Heading to Redmond, WA

Symetrix Names Jeff Sondermeyer Director of Engineering and CTO

Ohio Churches Get Boost in Intelligibility from Bosch and Electro-Voice Gear

Chicago White Sox Ball Park Upgrades with New Shure Wireless Systems

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox baseball organization, based at Chicago's U.S. Cellular Field, installed Shure's PSM900 Wireless Personal Monitor and UHF-R Wireless Microphone Systems for the 2011 season, upgrading from Shure's PSM700. The new gear helped the baseball organization avoid running afoul of new FCC regulations on permissible spectrum band frequencies.

Award-Winning Sound Design for “Book of Mormon” Gets Assist from L-Acoustics Gear

NEW YORK – Book of Mormon took home nine of the 14 Tony Awards it had been nominated for earlier this year, including one for Best Sound Design. To optimize the sound – especially for the area where theatre critics and other VIPs are seated – sound designer Brian Ronan and production engineer Christopher Sloan used a downfill array of nine L-Acoustics dV-DOSC cabinets in a nearly horizontal orientation to overcome challenges posed by the musical's scenic elements.
