Stage Works Deploys ISP Technologies Gear for 2011 Season at Chene Park Amphitheater

DETROIT – Stage Works oversaw the installation and operation of a sound system deployed for the 2011 summer concert season at 6,000-capacity Chene Park Amphitheater. The setup included 20 HDL 4212 Line Arrays, four HDL 4210 Line Arrays, 18 XMAX 212 subwoofers and a 14-piece ProWedge 212 monitor system for a lineup of artists including Lauryn Hill, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, the O'Jays and others.

LOS ANGELES – Veteran mix engineer Jim Ebdon joined Maroon 5's 2011 tour across the U.S. earlier this year using a DiGiCo SD7 console, the new SD192 Rack and Waves SoundGrid bundle. He was no stranger to DiGiCo gear, having used a D5 for many years on global tours with Maroon 5, as well as with Aerosmith, Matchbox Twenty, Annie Lennox and Sting, and credited the SD192 Rack and Waves plugin for providing a ample boost in power, sonics and other subtle enhancements.

ORLANDO – The 2011 Parnelli Awards, held Oct. 29 at the Peabody Orlando, paid tribute to Lifetime Achievement Award winner Ed Wannebo (personally congratulated with a surprise appearance by a Margarita-bearing Kenny Chesney, pictured here), Audio Innovator Kenton Forsythe, Parnelli Visionary Jim Fackert and winners in 24 other categories for individuals, companies and products that all helped the live production industry take a giant step forward in 2011.

SIOUX FALLS, SD – MuSonics audio designer Peter Borchard specified Lectrosonics' Aspen SPN1624 Digital Audio Processor for auto-mixing and related tasks at St. Joseph Cathedral. He also specified an 8-channel wireless setup with two Lectrosonics VRMWB Venue Series receiver mainframes, six Lectrosonics LMa Digital Hybrid beltpack transmitters and two UT Digital Hybrid Hand-Held Transmitters with the VMO omnidirectional capsules. The beltpack transmitters are paired with a combination of earset and lavaliere microphones from DPA Microphones.

NEW YORK – After a year spent auditioning different audio systems for the Allen Room, Doug Hosney, director of production at Jazz at Lincoln Center opted for a Meyer Sound M'elodie system. The new system includes two arrays of eight M'elodie line array loudspeakers and two 500-HP subwoofers each, with two more 500-HP subs on the floor.

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Paul Garza has been technical director at the San Pedro Playhouse for the past eight of the theatre's 85 years. He credited its arsenal of Countryman miniature mics, including 36 B3 Omni Round Lavaliere and E6 Omni Earset models, for standing up to the rigors of sweat, quick costume changes and other rough handling, helping even projection-challenged performers be heard clearly and easily by the audience.

YAKIMA, WA – The city of Yakima hired Sousley Sound & Communications for a new sound system at the at the Yakima Valley SunDome, a 6195-seat multi-purpose arena. The venue needed a zoned system optimized for speech intelligibility and musicality. Sousley Sound provided 24 Community R-Series loudspeakers and six iHP Series dual 15-inch subwoofers.

BALTIMORE, MD – The New Light Church, named in 1957, moved into a church in 1999 that was then more than 130 years old. In Sept. 2007, the vacant structure was heavily damaged during from a fire that broke out after roof repairs. Although prized stained glass windows were lost, no one was injured, and during the rebuilding process, church leaders took the opportunity to include a new sound system. Connectivity Group LLC designed and installed the system, which includes Tannoy VQ 100, V8 and V6 loudspeakers.
