Rock in Rio Festival Uses Massive VerTec System
RIO DE JANEIRO – The 10th annual week-long Rock In Rio festival drew 700,000 to the site planned for the 2016 Summer Olympics to hear Guns N' Roses, Shakira, Katy Perry, Stevie Wonder, Ke$ha, Metallica, Rihanna, Coldplay, Elton John, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and many other top artists perform. Gabisom Audio Equipment provided the massive sound system, which included a main PA hang of 120 VerTec VT4889 line array elements and 84 VT4880A subwoofers.

Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems is replacing the 01V96VCM with its new 01V96i digital mixer. Available during the first quarter of 2012 at the same MRSP as its predecessor ($2,699), the 01V96i comes with a 16-track USB 2.0 interface for multi-track recording via MAC or PC, and the cosmetics are black instead of dark blue. The 01V96i features 16 in/16 out USB audio streaming at 96kHz and multi-channel in/out via expansion card or ADAT, and can be integrated with ASIO and Core Audio DAW software programs. The 01V96 comes bundled with the latest version of Steinberg’s Cubase AI, Yamaha VCM Effects and REV-X reverb. The 01V96i also has a sampling rate of 24bit/96kHz and improved head amps with onboard 24bit/96kHz A/D and D/A converters. BEIJING – LAB, a major sound equipment rental company with locations in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Macao, recently purchased Outline gear including the company's GTO line-source system, GTO-LOW base extension modules and a number of Mantas compact line-source cabinets, high-power LAB 21 HS subwoofers, T 11 lightweight power amplifiers and numerous other accessories. Outline sent two members of its staff to Beijing to train the rental company's techs, mostly on the use of the GTO system.

PLOIESTI, Romania – FBS Lines, RCF's distributor in Romania, provided audio gear for Ilie Oana Stadium, a soccer stadium here. The installation included 24 RCF P6215 and 28 RCF P4228 speakers to cover the tribune sections of the stadium.
