Sennheiser Launches XS Wireless Series

ANAHEIM, CA — Sennheiser launched its XS Wireless Series at the 2012 NAMM Show. Promising a way for small event and conference venues and houses of worship to benefit from an RF wireless system, the transmitters have a battery life of up to 10 hours, while a switching bandwidth of up to 24 MHz allows for flexibility in the choice of frequencies. The series includes two vocal sets, an instrument system and presentation sets with clip-on microphone or a headmic.

ANAHEIM, CA — Mackie introduced its DL1608 for live mixing at Winter NAMM 2012. The DL1608 promises the power of a full-featured digital mixer with the ease and mobility of an iPad. Features include 16 Onyx mic preamps and 24bit Cirrus Logic AD/DA converters with seamless wired to wireless iPad control. Along with the ability to mix from anywhere in the venue, the Mackie DL1608 can be used with plugins for EQ, dynamics, effects and more. The DL1608 supports up to 10 iPad devices.

ANAHEIM, CA — Shure introduced its ULX-D digital wireless system at NAMM 2012. The system features new technology that promises a combination of audio quality, signal stability and spectral efficiency. Up to 14 ULX-D systems can operate in one six MHz TV channel.

VALPARAISO, IN — Guitar Center Professional (GC Pro) and one of its affliate program members, 101 Event Productions of Dyer, IN, provided an upgrade for the sound system at the renovated Valparaiso Memorial Opera House. The 364-seat venue’s new gear includes JBL VRX932LAP speakers and AL7115 subwoofers; Yamaha M7-CL48 (FOH) and LS932 (monitors) consoles, and a wireless system from Audio-Technica.

Nielsen purchased two SD8s over three years ago to fill the bill for Blondie and Blues Traveler tours, as well as to accommodate specific rental requests. After Blondie wrapped on their ninth studio album, Panic Girls, the band set out on a near five-week tour across Europe and the UK.

WINNIPEG, Canada — The Manitoba Centennial Centre contracted with Glen Jonatchick, president and founder of Integrated Entertainment Technologies (IET) to upgrade the audio system for the 2,305-seat venue’s arts programs. The new system includes three major components: Sennheiser mics; a proprietary processing, amplification and software hub provided by Netherlands-based, Acoustic Control Systems (ACS) and a package of Tannoy V12s, i9s, V8s and Di6DCs.
