Houston Family Arts Center Finds Countryman Mics a Good Fit

HOUSTON — The Houston Family Arts Center (HFAC), a non-profit, family friendly community theatre and actors academy, has been using earset and lavaliere microphones from Countryman Associates. Technical director Tracy Clayton credited the mics for actor comfort, fit, the ability to conceal them within costumes and the replaceable cables on the earset mics.

Heil Sound Offers Trip for Two to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

CLEVELAND, OH — In 2007, Bob Heil was invited to display a collection of his early sound reinforcement inventions at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame here, including the first Talk Box and sound mixer for The Who’s Quadrophenia tour. To mark the fifth year since that happened, the company is giving away a VIP tour through the Hall of Fame, along with airfare and accommodations for two. The contest began Jan. 9 and runs through Jan. 31, and details on how to enter can be found on the Heil Sound Facebook page.

COPPELL, TX – Spanish-speaking Iglesia Mundo de Fe, which shares a location with LifeChurch here, has installed a QSC Audio KLA Series fixed arcuate active line array system, together with K Series loudspeakers as part of an upgrade to the audio-visual equipment in the church’s sanctuary. The QSC system was purchased from Scott Price at ProAudio.com in Ft. Worth, and installed by the company’s design/build division, Church Audio Video.

110th NAMM Show Sets New Record with 95,709 Attendees

ANAHEIM, CA — The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) announced a record-setting  95,709 registered attendees for its 110-year-old show, a six percent increase from last year. International registration rose 15 percent from last year, to 11,981. The association previously reported an increase in exhibitor numbers as well, with 1,441 exhibitors at this year’s show, including 236 new exhibitors.
