High Winds Force Cancellation of Some Electric Daisy Carnival Performances

LAS VEGAS — Day Two of the three-day Electric Daisy Carnival, held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from dusk to dawn June 8-10, was hampered by winds estimated at 30 mph, with gusts strong enough to kick stinging sand into the air. The high winds had been building since about 8 pm June 9. After meeting with local safety officials, the festival organizer, Insomniac Events, announced a temporary shutdown to the event’s seven stages at about 1 am June 10.

Crowd Grows Unruly after Weather Cancellation in Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY — Folding chairs were damaged and thrown on the stage, along with bottles and cans, after headliner Eric Church’s June 1 performance was cancelled at Coca-Cola Field due to weather concerns. There were no reports of serious injuries. Organizers of the WYRK Taste of Country concert had delayed Church’s appearance on the stage, then cancelled the event amid concerns that the high winds might destabilize the stage structure.
