ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — The Carnival festival tradition has expanded from Trinidad and Tobago on the two days prior to Ash Wednesday to other dates on the calendar, and locations in the U.S. Earlier this year, the festive celebrations of Caribbean culture took place here, and also in Brooklyn, NY and Miami Gardens, FL with NYC-based Advanced Audio, Miami-based Master Sound Productions and D.A.S. Audio all playing a key role.

2013 NAMM Show, Set for Jan. 24-27, Broadens Focus

Vaudeville-Style Theater in Seattle Equipped with Sennheiser Gear

SEATTLE — The Triple Door, a 300-seat, vaudeville style theatre originally built in 1926, has been making good use of a sound system that includes a selection of Sennheiser evolution series microphones (e600, e800 and e900 instrument and vocal microphones), a Yamaha PM1D 96 channel digital console and a JBL VerTec series medium-sized line array loudspeaker system.

Sound Companies Specify EM Acoustics HALO Compact Arrays for London Venues

LONDON — EM Acoustics, which has followed up on the 2009 launch of the company’s HALO line array system with their HALO Compact line array system, announced Sound By Design’s use of the gear at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October followed by Stage Electric’s use of the compact arrays for the 750-seat Great Hall within the Queen’s Building, formerly known as the People’s Palace.

German Unity Celebration in China Heard via Sennheiser, K-array Gear

SHANGHAI, China — Expatriates from Germany marked Oct. 3, German Unity Day, with a celebration at the Hotel Intercontinental Expo here on Oct. 8. The German Consulate sponsored the event, which included a speech by consul general Wolfgang Roehr along with live music. Event sponsor Sennheiser and Real Live provided microphones and two K-array Redline series systems for the event.
