Thunder Audio Expands Inventory with 34 RCF Subs

LIVONIA, MI — Thunder Audio, headquartered here, recently added 34 RCF subwoofers to their production inventory. The additional gear includes 24 TTS56-A (double-21) subwoofers, eight TTL36-AS (double-18) flyable active subwoofers and two TTS28-A (double-18) active subs, noted Thunder Audio owner Tony Villarreal. The new gear has already been deployed for events featuring Skrillex, Metallica and others.

Midas Consoles Support Blondie and Devo Tour

CHICAGO — For their 2012 Whip It to Shreds co-headlining tour of North America, Blondie and Devo were mixed on a Midas PRO6 at FOH and a PRO2C console at monitors. Production manager Jim Roese of New Hampshire-based RPM Dynamics, who specified the gear, also supported the tour as monitor engineer. Roese was joined by FOH engineers Rod Nielsen (Blondie) and Paul David Hager (Devo) along with Devo monitor engineer Adam Beck-Slaten.

Custom Audio Relies on RFvenue for 2013 Pro Bowl

HONOLULU — Custom Audio supported the audio needs of the NFL for the 2013 Pro Bowl, held at Aloha Stadium here Jan. 27 with an assist from RFvenue.  Along with adverse RF conditions, the rain was heavy enough to warrant a flash flood warning from the National Weather Service for the entire island of Oahu; the game was delayed by a half hour as a result.

NEW ORLEANS — The crews supporting the Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show tried to leave nothing to chance. Along with their own power supply, the halftime show was supported by a wireless system from Sennheiser, provided by ATK Audiotek. Beyoncé’s voice was heard via a custom chrome-finish Sennheiser SKM 5200-II handheld transmitter, topped with an MD 5235 dynamic capsule.
