NYC Public High School Backed by Tony Bennett Gets Yamaha AFC System

NEW YORK — The Tony Bennett Concert Hall, an 800-seat venue within the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens, features an Yamaha Active Field Control (AFC) system that met with the approval of both Tony Bennett and his wife, former NYC teacher Susan Benedetto, along with Bennett’s longtime sound engineer, Tom Young. The venue also features NEXO GEO S12 line array elements and NXAMP4X4 amplifiers.

NEW YORK — Sound designer Peter Hylenski specified Meyer Sound gear for 54 Below, a cabaret and restaurant that operates in the basement space below the original Studio 54 nightclub (currently a venue for the Roundabout Theatre Company). Since it opened, the venue has featured performances by Patti LuPone, Leslie Uggams, Ben Vereen, Bebe Neuwirth, Doc Severinsen and Rebecca Luker, among others.

Gator G-Tour Mixer Case for Yamaha LS9 Consoles

Gator Cases’ G-Tour LS9-16 (pictured here) and G-Tour YAMLS9 (32) cases are designed for Yamaha’s LS9-16 and LS9-32 channel consoles. Like Gator’s G-Tour cases designed for Behringer X32 and Presonus Studiolive consoles, these cases are made with heavy-duty plywood construction, a tough laminated PVC exterior and EVA foam padding along with a “doghouse” design to secure the mixer while also allowing for easy cable routing and full rear access while in the case. The G-Tour LS9-16 and G-Tour YAMLS9 (32) cases also feature foam lined break-away lids and heavy duty casters along with Gator’s signature red recessed twist latches, spring loaded handles and plated hardware.
