NEW YORK – Nathan’s Hot Dogs’ Fourth of July celebration on Coney Island in Brooklyn is now in its 98th year. Along with an estimated 40,000 packing the corner of Surf and Stillwell in front of the original Nathan’s location, more than 1 million now view the event on ESPN. Amawalk, NY based Audio Production Services supports the audio needs for the event. This year they provided a combination of RCF TTL31A active line arrays with dB Technologies DVA-T12 and DVA-T4 boxes and, for stage coverage, a combination of dB Technologies K70 compact active speakers and DVX DM12 monitors.

RCF Expands 4-Pro Series

RCF adds to its 4-PRO Series of active speakers, which feature digital onboard amplifiers and DSP, Baltic birch ply enclosures, aluminum handles, pole mounts and integrated top/rear fly track rigging points. The 4PRO 5031-A has two 15-inch woofers and a 1-inch exit compression driver on a 60° by 90° constant directivity horn, driven by 600W RMS of power. The 4-PRO 3031-A is similar, but with a single -15 configuration, like the single-12 4-PRO 2031-A. Smaller yet is the PRO 1031-A, which packs 400W RMS, a 10-inch woofer and 1-inch compression driver, yet delivers 131 dB peaks.
