VERONA, Italy – Measuring 140 by 110 meters (length by width), the Roman arena in Verona is known for its large-scale opera and theatre performances. Once capable of housing 20,000 patrons per performance, the arena is now limited to 15,000 because of safety reasons. But it still hosts more than a half-million audience members annually. HOPE, ME – Broadview Farms, near Hope, Maine, is the home of “Horses with Hope,” an organization whose mission is to rescue and rehabilitate abused, neglected and abandoned horses and find ways to provide them with better care. In 2013, Horses with Hope completed a spacious new venue at Broadview Farms with an indoor riding arena, a viewing area, horse stalls and living quarters for staff and visitors.
