LAS VEGAS – 3G Productions designed and installed an audio system for the hip-hop dance crew Jabbawockeez’ new show, Prism, featured at a new 850-seat theater at the Luxor Hotel and Casino here. 3G specified a d&b audioteknik system for the space that includes 12 Q-Subs, 6 V12s a side and eight E8s for the 5.1 surround.

AUSTIN, TX – For the Austin City Limits Music Festival, held for the first time on two consecutive weekends Oct. 4-6 and 11-13, Thunder Audio provided a Harman JBL VTX line array system powered by Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers. The system included 36 VTX V25 flown 18 per side with eight V25 cabinets per side for the outside hang. For the low end, Thunder Audio provided 48 VTX S28 subwoofers in two hangs of 12 each on either side of the stage, with 24 ground-stacked S28 subs across the front of the stage. The system was powered by 86 Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers networked and controlled with JBL HiQnet Performance Manager.

LAS VEGAS — When the first-ever Life Is Beautiful music, art and food festival, took over 15 square blocks of downtown Las Vegas on Oct. 26th and 27th, Professional Wireless Systems (PWS) was on location providing frequency coordination for the more than 80 musical acts, performers and media outlets throughout the two-day celebration.

ROSENBERG, TX – For 12,000-seat Guy K. Traylor Stadium here, home to the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District High School football team, Stafford, TX-based Firetron provided a new system that includes JBL CBT Series column loudspeakers from Harman. The setup includes four JBL CBT 200LA-1 column loudspeakers on each long side of the stadium, with four behind the home team stands and four behind the visiting team stands. The system is powered with Crown IT6000 amplifiers with BSS BLU-100 processing.

MADISON, WI – The Overture Center for the Arts complex here includes seven performance facilities and four art galleries. The complex’s Capitol Theater venue, which dates back to 1928, is teh complex’s oldest (and second-largest) performance space. Although the venue underwent a major renovation eight years ago that cut the historic vaudeville house’s capacity in half, to approximately 1,100 seats, the Capitol’s sound reinforcement system hadn’t been updated for nearly two decades. The Capitol now has a new system that centers on L-Acoustics gear.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Ghost Brothers of Darkland County is the staged musical collaboration between author Stephen King, singer/songwriter John Mellencamp and composer and producer T Bone Burnett. Drummer Dane Clark is touring with Auralex Acoustics’ HoverMat and HoverDeck Isolation Riser.

FRANKLIN, TN — Eddie Mapp, front of house engineer with eclectic alt-rock/pop band Paramore, is using three sE Electronics Voodoo VR1 Ribbon Microphones and a pair of patented IRF2 Instrument Reflexion Filters with the band on tour. Paramore is currently on an arena tour of Latin America before heading to Europe for a month in support of its self-titled fourth album, which made its debut at #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart in April.

LANSING, MI — The 18-screen multiplex NCG Eastwood Cinemas in Lansing, Mich. has selected a Meyer Sound cinema loudspeaker system for its premium “Xtreme” screening room. The installation comprises three Acheron 100 and three Acheron LF screen channel loudspeakers, 10 X-800C cinema subwoofers and 26 HMS-10 cinema surround loudspeakers. The system is driven and optimized by a Galileo loudspeaker management system with three Galileo 616 processors.
