Harman Acquires Duran Audio

NEW YORK — At the 135th AES Convention, Harman announced its acquisition of privately-held Duran Audio BV. The purchase provides Harman with access to new electro-acoustic and software-based directivity control technologies including Duran Audio’s AXYS Intellivox line of “steerable” columns. Harman said it plans to integrate the AXYS product line and core technologies into its future audio products. Anchorage Baptist Temple Goes Digital With DiGiCo

ANCHORAGE, AK — In today’s digital age, many houses of worship are moving towards rich multimedia presentations that are streamed, uploaded and broadcast worldwide. The need for up-to-date systems to handle this new model of worship options often requires an investment in gear and technology. For the 2,300-seat Anchorage Baptist Temple (ABT) in Alaska, this was the very impetus to undertake a revamp of its overall audio set-up. Integrators Michael Garrison Associates spec’d a DiGiCo for the Temple’s latest upgrade consisting of SD7’s and SD10 mixers.

Adlib Supplies Coda Sound System For Ellie Goulding Halcyon Days Tour

LIVERPOOL, UK – For the latest UK leg of Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon Days tour, engineers are Oz Bagnall (FOH) and James Neale (Monitors) relied once again on gear provided by Adlib, based here. The gear supporting the tour for the UK-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist included a Coda Audio sound system. Bagnall specified the system, which once again proved to be well suited to the wide variety of theatre and town hall venues on the tour.

Cadac and Outline Co-host International Distributor Event

LOMBARDIA, Italy – Cadac and Outline co-hosted a four-day international distributor event held at the Pala Banco di Brecia here in late September. The two companies presented a rolling schedule of product demos, hands-on demos and workshops. More than 100 industry professionals attended.

QSC Audio Names Barry Ferrell Senior VP/Chief Strategy Officer

COSTA MESA, CA – QSC Audio Products, LLC promoted Barry Ferrell to the position of senior vice president and chief strategy officer. Ferrell joined the company in 1990 as an applications engineer and was the company’s first technical hire for its sales and marketing department. In 2009, Ferrell assumed a leadership role within the company’s Cinema Group and was named vice president of Cinema in Oct. 2012.
