TORONTO – Red Bull staged the finals for its Thre3Style international DJ competition here in early November. Performing within different venues from Nov. 4-9, the audio reinforcement system needed to combine optimum sound quality with a compact, potable form factor. Nimble Audio Group provided a KR402 system to use as a side fill and two KF12 coaxial speakers used as monitors.

South African Artist Creates Soundscapes with PreSonus Gear

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – William Kentridge, known for an artistic scope that extends from drawings and prints to operas and charcoal drawn animations, also incorporates artistic audio elements. For his installation, “The Refusal of Time,” which appeared as part of the dOCUMENTA (13) exhibition in Kassel, Germany in 2012, Kentridge combined sculpture with digital video and multi-layered soundscapes. The installation incorporated PreSonus’ AudioBox 1818VSL as the central audio hub. “The Refusal of Time” has since appeared at numerous museums worldwide, including Rome, Paris, and Eindhoven. New installations are scheduled in Germany, Japan, Australia, and the U.S.
