AUCKLAND, New Zealand — Leonard Lucas of Atlantic Audio Limited headed up an audio project for a new sports facility at Westlake Girls High School here. Lucas turned to Robert Te’o of True Audio to design and install the system. The setup features a cluster of One Systems Direct Weather loudspeakers at the center of an all-weather canopy. The canopy covers more than 4,200 square yards of playing court surface for tennis and netball.

NASHVILLE — Accompanying Danish rock band Volbeat on a current U.S. tour are Trivium, an Orlando, FL-based heavy metal band, and Digital Summer, a rock band from Phoenix. Trivium’s monitor engineer, Mike Babcock (pictured left, with tour manager Joey Brueckmann, right) chose the new Yamaha QL5 Digital Audio Console for monitor mixing. Clair is providing most of the gear for the tour; the band owns JH-Audio IEMs and Sennheiser transmitters.

BEIJING — For CD Blues, a bar beneath the Ravioli Factory restaurant in Beijing’s Chaoyang district, Sennheiser China provided a K-array setup that includes KR402 on both sides of the stage, two flown KRM33 as front-fills, four KF12 as monitors speakers for the musicians and six Kobra KK50 on both sides of the back of the room for surround. Upstairs in the restaurant, there are eight compact Tornados around the room, supported by two Piccolo Subwoofers for the lower frequencies. The whole installation is managed by one Piccolo Amplifier. Sennheiser China distributes K-array gear in China.
