NEW YORK – A/V integration firm Audio Production Services installed an Ashly ne24.24M Protea DSP Matrix Processor and an Ashly ne4250.70 Network Four-Channel Amplifier as part of a system upgrade at the Union League Club here. “Ashly’s Protea processing worked well with Key Digital’s user interface technology and allowed us to give the staff an iPad that could control the new A/V system,” noted Simon Nathan, APS president. “In all, it was a straightforward design and an easy installation, and the client is happy with its sound and performance.”

BURGETTSTOWN, PA – Satin Sound Systems, Inc. recently supported a sold out concert by Lady Antebellum during the band’s “Take Me Downtown” tour in support of their latest album, GoldenFor the show at Niagara Pavilion, Satin Sound rigged a Martin Sound system consisting of 24 W8L Longbow enclosures for the main hangs, 24 W8LC speakers for the outfills, and 20 WSXA subs. Amplification included Lab.gruppen FP 7000 for the Longbows, PLM 10000Q for the W8LCs and Powersoft K10s for the WSXA subs.

Primavera Festival in Spain Features L-Acoustics at Five of Seven Stages

BARCELONA, Spain — For this year’s Primavera music festival in Spain, an event that draws huge crowds to the Parc del Fòrum public park grounds here, Twin Cam Audio specified L-Acoustics sound systems for five of the festival’s seven stages. Twin Cam’s technical director, Juan Cid, worked closely with L-Acoustics touring application engineer Frédéric Bailly to optimize the sound for the five stages. Twin Cam also used the event to debut its recently-acquired K2 components.

The Dark Sea, a new ride at Italian theme park Cinecittà World, is a roller coaster journey through Dante’s interpretation of hell which ends with a vertical free fall of 20 meters. TIANJIN, China– Eastern Acoustic Works Avalon loudspeakers played a key role in the success of the new S.Muse nightclub, located in the Binhai New Area in Tianjin, China. The two level night club features a main PA that consists of four Avalon CLUB.two full range loudspeakers mounted 4 meters high and firing down on the dance floor while four Avalon Sub.two subwoofers drive the low end of the club system. Four compact CLUB.four loudspeakers are used as near-field monitors for the DJ booth. Fourteen EAW JF59 and 10 EAW LA128ZR loudspeakers deliver music to the lounge areas on the first and second floor.

Rock Band Squint Records Album With Harman’s AKG Microphones and Headphones

AUSTIN, Texas – Alternative rock band Squint took a break from their relentless touring to record a new album. In the studio, they used an AKG WMS4000 wireless system with a D5 microphone for coals, while the rest of the band used the C414 and the D40 microphones for guitars, the C451E microphone for the overhead drums and the D12 microphone for the bass drum. “Ten years ago, I didn’t consider myself a rock star, but when I reached out to AKG, they listened. No matter how far I was from home, I’ve been well taken care of,” said Dane Adrian, lead vocalist. “It was clear that AKG was a brand that I would like to be loyal to, in the same way our fans have been loyal to us throughout the entire process. Professional Wireless Systems Supports Telemundo’s Premios Tu Mundo

MIAMI — Professional Wireless Systems provided RF equipment and on-site expertise for the third annual Premios Tu Mundo awards show. For the live broadcast, PWS provided Shure Axient systems, Shure PSM 1000s, Shure UHFRs, Sennheiser 5200s, Telex BTR 800 wireless intercoms and COMTEK and Lectrosonics IFBs, as well as a range of PWS’ Domed and Helical Antennas. Additionally, PWS worked with Acoutech, which provided the show with PA and monitor systems, microphones and in-ear monitors. Throughout the duration of the live broadcast, PWS worked with Schroeder to monitor the event, continuously searching for unregistered wireless devices that posed the potential of frequency interference.
