CARHAIX, France — The four-day Les Vieilles Charrues, one of France’s largest festivals, drew a crowd of 244,000 with headliners including Bob Dylan, Sting, The Cure, Garbage, Portishead, LMFAO, Kasabian and France-based artists including Thomas Dutronc, Zebda, Orelsan, Amadou et Mariam, among others. Audiolite’s gear for the event’s main stage included E15 loudspeakers from Adamson Systems Engineering.

Harman and JBL Support Artists for Autism Benefit Concert

TARZANA, CA — Harman recently supported the Artists for Autism benefit here by providing a JBL VRX PA system for the day-long event. Held at live music venue Petie’s Place, the Artists for Autism event featured performances by Resurrect the Machine, Ronny North, the Back Beat Brawlers and Jeff Iftekaruddin. All proceeds from the event were donated to the Autism Speaks foundation.

GARLAND, TX — Kevin Deal, account manager at the Dallas office for Guitar Center Professional (GC Pro), worked with GC Pro affiliate DJ Sound & Lighting and Kahn Nguyen, a music consultant, on the recent installation of a new sound system for the new auditorium at Mother of Perpetual Help Parish Church, based here. The installation included 15 DAS Aero 8A line array boxes, six DAS Avant 118A subwoofers, eight DAS Avant 112A floor monitors and an Allen & Heath iLive T112 analog console with IDR48 mix rack.

A recent check determined the system components are still performing well, despite exposure to the harsh Canadian elements 365 days a year.

AKG Launches D12 VR Kick Drum Mic

LONDON — Developed more than six decades ago, AKG achieved an international breakthrough in recording and broadcast technology with the introduction of its first dynamic microphone, the D12.
