JoeCo noted that its recent software update for BlackBox products offer users of the multi-channel live audio recorder/player series of gear several new features and enhancements. With version 2.2.7x, both the BlackBox Recorder and the BlackBox Player support the replay of polyphonic wav files from multiple stereo files (up to 24 or even 64 channel PolyWAV files). Mono, stereo and multichannel files can be used together in the same song, enhancing the system’s flexibility.

Nobel Peace Prize Concert Mixed on Midas Consoles

OSLO, Norway — For the annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert, held here last month, AVAB-CAC provided two Midas XL8s at FOH and four Midas PRO9s at monitors for Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Hudson, Seal, and the 55-piece Norwegian Radio Orchestra, which was conducted by Nick Davies. AVAB-CAC’s Asle Nilsen also specified Midas’ DL431 mic splitter and AES50 tie lines, and the PRO9s were used to create multiple stem mixes of the performance, which could then be accessed from the combined network by the other consoles.
