Yamaha Rivage PM10 To Be Featured at AES Booth, Demo Area

NEW YORK — Yamaha Professional Audio noted that its new flagship Rivage PM10 digital audio console will be featured at the company’s AES booth #319 and demoed in room #1A03 throughout the AES Show. The event takes place at New York’s Javits Center Oct. 30-Nov. 1, 2015. The new console is also making the rounds with an active demo program underway.

Rat Sound Supplies L-Acoustics K2 System for alt-J Tour

LOS ANGELES — For alt-J’s recent tour of North American venues, Rat Sound Systems of Camarillo, CA provided an L-Acoustics K2 rig. Lance Reynolds, the band’s FOH engineer, worked with Rat Sound systems engineer Tom Worley (KSE). The main rig included 44 L-Acoustics K2 modules and 22 SB28 subs, plus eight K1-SB enclosures in larger venues.

LDI Show Returns to Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — LDI’s annual conference and exhibition returned to the Las Vegas Convention Center Oct. 19-25, pulling in close to 10,000 from 88 countries to view lighting, staging and video gear. Audio? In the seminars, maybe, but on the show floor? Not so much. But there were still plenty of audio rental company owners visiting the booths, particularly those who have branched out beyond sound. The booth featuring ModTruss and Blizzard Lighting products, pictured here, was one of many drawing a crowd.

In Memoriam: Alan ‘Esco’ Escombe, 1945-2015

BYRON BAY, Australia — In a recent posting on their Facebook page, Rock-It Cargo noted the passing of Alan “Esco” Escombe. Escombe, who joined Rock-It Cargo in 1985, joined the company after touring as a bass player with The Shake Spears in the mid-1960s and Fynn McCool in the late 1960s-early 1970s. A recent photo of crew members during load-out after a Paul McCartney concert in Hamburg, Germany shows Escombe at far right.

Clearwing’s Logistics Division Changes from “Big Event Specialists” to “Big Event Logistics”

MILWAUKEE, WI — Clearwing Productions, which formerly called its transport and logistics division “Big Event Specialists,” has renamed it “Big Event Logistics.” The expanded division provides transport of live event equipment, freight coordination, dedicated trade show deliveries and third-party logistics. Big Event Logistics will be run out of Clearwing’s Milwaukee office.
